The phrase means exactly what it says – if we do not win any compensation for your personal injuries, then we do not ask you to pay.  If we do win, we ask the other side to pay.

I am frightened of making a claim against my employers in case they try to sack me.
This is a serious concern for many people who have had work related accidents. Thankfully for you, we are used to dealing with this type of situation and understand and fully empathise with your worries.

Current UK legislation states that an employer is not allowed to sack you if you sustain injury at work. By law, your employer has to have insurance to cover the company’s employees for accidents at work. In most cases, we will deal with the company’s insurers, not the company.

Am I able to claim out-of-pocket expenses?
Yes is the general answer, and it makes it easier if you keep all your receipts. For example, taxi to hospital for an appointment - obtain a receipt from the taxi driver. A list of the money you spend and the reason would also help.
